About Motion Platforms

Lowslider Max
What?

We build motion platforms. That's all we do. From 1 to 6 DoF – all on a common base platform.
Visit our LowSlider configuration page to see the latest prices and available build options.
We will powder coat your purchase exactly how you want.
Already have a 3DoF setup? No problem. We will try our best to accommodate any sim racing kit.

Not a shop
Why?

We started as a shop, but our former suppliers failed to offer the latest sim racing kits at the best prices.
Our shelves groan with last year's models, and no serious home rig racer wants that.
Visit our shop to see what's for sale; once it's gone, it probably won't return.
Full-motion racing sim rigs are our thing.

Worldwide coverage
Where?

Everywhere. We don't make a penny out of shipping and charge our customers exactly what we pay.
We primarily use DHL Express for worldwide shipping, but we are happy to offer our customers the option to collect from our UK workshop.
If customers prefer, they can arrange collection themselves using a courier of their choice.
Only shipments of sim racing motion rigs arranged by Race@home are covered by our transit insurance.

Bringing real track motion home

Home sim racing has evolved from being a niche hobby to a rapidly growing part of gaming and motorsport. This change has been driven by the rise of esports and the availability of higher-performance hardware across a range of price points.

European and global data, the UK's motorsport culture, and the growing adoption of sim racing equipment collectively indicate steady growth in home sim racing and a positive outlook for the future. The European racing simulator market is forecast to grow at about 15 per cent each year until 2030.

The UK stands out as a leading country, thanks to its motorsport history and high use of advanced motion platform setups. Surveys show sim racers are moving away from temporary desk-mounted setups and choosing dedicated cockpits, motion rigs, and immersive displays or VR. This means more people are making space at home for their hobbies.

Hardware sales give a good idea of how common home rigs are. A Europe-wide report estimates the sim racing hardware market at approximately $ 1.5 billion, with annual growth of around 8 per cent, driven by improved motion platforms, wheels, pedals, cockpits, and VR or AR features.

The UK is a key market due to its strong esports scene and passion for motorsport. UK households make up a significant part of the fast-growing European base of full or semi-permanent racing rigs, rather than just using temporary wheels.

Several factors are likely to sustain the growth of home rig use in the UK. Organised online leagues and esports provide dedicated sim racers with additional incentives to invest in motion platforms, high-end direct-drive wheels, and haptic systems.

Entry-level gear is getting more affordable, while premium hardware continues to improve. This makes it easier for casual console players to become serious home-racing-rig owners, with the UK leading the way thanks to its motorsport history and active sim-racing communities.

If current trends continue, UK home rig ownership should continue to grow. More motorsports enthusiasts are likely to allocate permanent space for racing setups and gradually transition from basic gear to more advanced, semi-professional installations.
