Introducing the D-BOX LowSlider 3DOF motion platform for owners of the D-BOX Gen5 3DOF actuator kit.
Transform your sim experience with the latest LowSlider platform, adding rear traction loss, central surge, and front steering.
Featuring four bespoke aluminium platform-mounted cups and eight custom brackets, delivering the same excitement formerly enjoyed only by a select few users.
Designed to connect a standard 580mm-wide cockpit to the LowSlider and LowSlider Max, please get in touch with us if you require a different cockpit size. We currently accommodate only profile-based cockpits; however, attention will soon shift to the TRX style.
Please use the spec sheet below to configure your LowSlider D-BOX and place a small deposit. We will then be in touch to help you select the right colour scheme.
The D-BOX LowSlider is a low-profile motion platform designed to sit under a sim racing or flight cockpit and provide additional motion cues, such as traction loss, surge, and steering movement. It is intended to complement 4-actuator systems such as D-BOX by adding more degrees of freedom without raising the rig significantly off the floor.
The LowSlider is a steel motion base that your existing 80/20 or tubular cockpit bolts onto, providing a flat, slim footprint that is easy to step into and place in a standard room. It is marketed as a “step build” platform, meaning you can buy it in simpler configurations (for example, rear traction loss only) and expand toward a full 6 degrees of freedom over time.
Typical LowSlider setups can add three key effects beneath a central vertical-motion system: rear traction loss (yaw), surge (longitudinal push during braking and acceleration), and a front “steering” or lateral actuator that allows the nose of the rig to move side to side in response to steering inputs. Higher-end configurations extend this to full 6DOF, combining these axes with heave, pitch, and roll from other actuators to simulate car body motion more accurately.
The LowSlider has been developed specifically to work alongside D-BOX actuator systems, allowing owners of 4-actuator D-BOX rigs to add extra DOF without replacing their existing kit. Integration typically uses a separate motion controller and software for the LowSlider while retaining D-BOX software for vertical haptics, providing granular road detail from D-BOX and larger body motions from the LowSlider.
The platform uses thick steel plate and box-section framing, but is kept as low and light as possible so it doesn’t raise seat height much and remains practical for home use. It can be powder-coated in various colours and is designed to provide “motion for the masses” by offering an upgradable path from 1DOF to 3DOF to 6DOF, rather than forcing a single, expensive purchase.
Users and reviewers report that the added yaw and surge motion dramatically increases immersion, particularly in rally, drifting, and GT racing, where feeling the rear step out and chassis weight transfer is important. When combined with D-BOX haptics for fine road texture and vibration, the result is a rig that delivers both subtle tactile cues and larger body movement in a way that many consider more informative than traditional 6DOF hexapods for sim racing.
